April Board Update
27 April 2007
The Board is in the process of hiring a new interim director. The Board met all day Friday April 27. The Board discussed how best to form a workable partnership with an executive director where the Board largely governs and the executive director manages, recognizing that this kind of association requires flexibility, and give and take.
The Board examined the strengths and weaknesses of its current make up with eye toward future board member selection. A process is going to be started immediately to identify new board members with an emphasis on coastal representation. The Board hopes to be getting new board members in place by the end of May.
The Board renewed its commitment to completing the strategic planning process that was begun earlier this year, with completion planned for this summer. As part of that process the Board will begin the process of planning the 2008 Sitka Art Invitational.
