September Board Update
September 25 , 2007
The Sitka Board of Directors met September 25th on-site. Highlights follow:
The search for a new Executive Director is underway. We received 85 applications for the position. The original pool has now been narrowed to twelve. The preliminary telephone interviews will be conducted in mid-October. We hope to have a new Executive Director hired by the first of the year.
Artist Carol Riley has joined the Sitka Board of Directors. Her dedication to Sitka has been cultivated over many years teaching here as a workshop instructor. Her renown as a painter and bright personality have given her watercolor workshops a loyal following. Her new presence and perspective are greatly appreciated on the board.
Plans are moving ahead for the 2008 Sitka Art Invitational. The board is looking for a volunteer to chair the event coordination committee. The event will be held November 14, 15 and 16 at the World Forestry Center in Portland, Oregon.
