Gallery Ryan GalleryBorn February 28, 1951, Portland, Oregon Medium Basketry Technique I use traditional as well as contemporary weaving methods. In keeping with my love of the outdoors, my work incorporates naturally shed deer, elk, moose and caribou antlers. I collect cedar bark, wild cherry bark, grasses and vines to use in my baskets. When used together, the natural materials and antlers enable me to create unique baskets that reflect the natural grace of antlers. Interests Living in the Northwest influences my work to a great extent. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and all of the things that nature provides for us here. It seemed only natural to use these things in my baskets. My teaching background and also the work I do with various art groups (such as the Lake Oswego Arts and Crafts League-LOCAL 14) give me great inspiration and encouragement to continue in my work.
