Born September 9, 1947, San Francisco, California Medium Soft pastels, oil pastels, acrylics, oils, monotypes www.poppydully.com Technique Soft pastels and oil pastels allow me to be spontaneous and expressive in color. The remarkable qualities of acrylics and oils fascinate and challenge me. Monotypes are magical, always full of surprises and delights. I learn from each of these mediums as I develop my artistic vision. I work on site and in my studio, selecting subject matter that has particular significance to my life. Interests I work from my experiences and enjoy sharing with others the profound feelings I have from those experiences. I try to convey the spirit of what I observe. The outdoors has been an important part of my life since childhood. I select favorite subjects, such as the Columbia Gorge, Sauvie Island, or images from my travels, for my work. The artistic process trains my eye to closely observe changing colors, varieties of forms, and the effect of light. I hope those who see my work will appreciate the places that they know, discover new places, and feel a sense of renewal. Favorite Place Columbia Gorge Collections Private collections |
