WORKSHOP schedule– Via catalog and online
Sitka Center's 2007 Workshop schedule (version 30.0) has been released. The full-color catalog, mailed the first week of March, is also posted on Sitka website. 75 stunningly wonderful and creative workshops are planned for late April through September at Sitka Center. Many admired instructors return for another year, joined by 20 new instructors, will offer an array of art, writing and nature workshops and experiences. Registration, accepted online, by phone, fax and mail, is open for members and non-member registration begins March 12. More »
SITKA 2020 – Planning
Sitka 2020, Sitka Center’s strategic planning process began in February with five Think Tank sessions. Notes from the Think Tanks are now online and available for review and comment. Our appreciation to the 45 people who participated for a half-day in one of the sessions: Core Programs: Workshops and Residencies; Sitka Center and Its Environment; Communication and Marketing: Telling the Story; Sitka Art Invitational: The Next Generation; and Resources: Leadership and Funding. Sitka Art Invitational postponed
Recently the Board of Directors of Sitka Center for Art and Ecology decided to delay the 15th annual production of the popular Sitka Art Invitational (SAI) until 2008. The next Sitka Art Invitational will be an opportunity to build on last year’s success. Click here for full announcement »
APPLY for Residencies
Apply by April 21 for Sitka Center’s Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 Residencies for artists, writers, and natural science scholars. Residents live and work on or near campus October through mid-May, free of charge. Residents, who come from across the U.S. and (to date) six nations, perform community outreach during their stay.
The Residency Program has provided more than 150 artists, writers, and natural science scholars the opportunity to conduct their work in the unique environment of Cascade Head and Salmon River estuary. Residents are on campus October through mid-May, when public workshops are minimal. More »
Summer Workshop Internship
From June through September, interns assist Sitka Center with summer workshops. The intern receives housing on the Sitka Center campus, a stipend, and the opportunity to work in the studios.
