Collins Centrum

Collins Centrum
The Collins Centrum was built in 1999 to create an information hub for Sitka’s visitors, while also providing an office for Sitka’s staff. It was designed by Portland firm Waterleaf Architects. It also contains the Hale Reference Library, which houses variety of books in art, creative writing, natural science, local interest, as well as Sitka’s archives. The library is dedicated in 1999 to the Hales who were neighbors and supporters of Sitka over the years. The building is named after Marybeth Collins, who helped fund this and numerous other projects both privately and through the Collins Foundation.
