Kamala Dolphin Kingsley makes mixed media paintings using a combination of watercolor, acrylic and gouache. Her art is inspired by science, Art Nouveau & Deco, nostalgia, kitsch, childhood experiences, Asian art, fairy tales, psychedelia and the amazing and bizarre wonders of nature. She graduated from CCA in Oakland, CA in 1997 with a BFA in photography, and currently lives in Portland, OR. Kamala creates fine art paintings, private commissions and is also a professional photographer. Her work has been shown at Vermillion, Roq la Rue, the Crocker Museum, the AKC Museum of the Dog and The China Institute in Paris, France, and has been published in "Subculture in the World" (Shoeisha, Japan), "Spectrum - The Best In Contemporary Fantastic Art" (volumes 13, 15 & 19), Emaho Magazine (India), and Studio Visit Magazine 2009 and 2010. Kamala is a member of Waterstone Gallery, and enjoys gardening.
