Peg Herring lives on a peach farm in Oregon's Willamette Valley. She is a professor emeritus of science communication at Oregon State University where she has written and illustrated hundreds of stories about agriculture and natural resources for children, adults and everyone in between. Most recently, she has co-authored and illustrated of a series of award-winning children's books, Ellie's Log (2013), Ricky's Atlas (2016), and Ellie's Strand (in press).
