Qinqin is an interdisciplinary artist with a Ph.D in biology and ecology studies, as well as art education from University of California at Davis and Berkeley, University of Minnesota, New York Art Students League, Otis College in Los Angeles and the School of Visual Arts in New York. Qinqin has a long-term passion in landscape art for biodiversity and watershed ecosystems and creates artwork to envision questions about climate risks, environmental relationships and human vulnerability. Qinqin works primarily in drawing, Chinese ink, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media and collage with natural materials and objects. Qinqin’s art work is inspired by natural beauty and great values of biodiversity and mother earth as well as culture.  Qinqin was taught Chinese ink painting and calligraphy before coming to the US.  Integrating Chinese calligraphy and design elements into Western art styles and connecting art and science contribute to the unique character of Qinqin’s impressionist and abstract artwork.
