Jake Simondet joined the Sitka Center in early 2023, bringing with him a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and a vision for sustainable land management.
With a background in field biology and over a decade of hands-on experience in plant care and ecological restoration, Jake leads the stewardship of Sitka’s properties with a focus on restoring habitats and responsibly developing natural resources for the wildlife that depend on them.
Residing in the coastal hills of Oregon, Jake is passionate about ecosystem ecology and the interconnectedness of natural systems. His work is grounded in a belief that through mindful engagement with the land, we can create a more resilient and biodiverse future.
