Jake grew up in Minnesota and attended Northland College in Wisconsin where he studied biology, natural resource conservation and preservation. He moved to the Oregon coast in 2017 and, for the past six years, served as a trusted project manager for the beloved coastal landscaping business, Coyote Gardens. Jake brings over 10 years of landscaping leadership and tree care experience to Sitka along with a dedication to and interest in the environment and coastal ecology. His passion for the outdoors was cultivated at a young age as an Eagle Scout and during backpacking trips across various parts of the U.S. Jake also co-manages the Neskowin Farmer’s Market with his wife, Rachel, who leads the garden program at Nestucca Valley K-8School, so Jake comes to Sitka with deep community roots. Despite all of their active community contributions, Rachel and Jake still find time to explore the beauty of the natural world with their two dogs, Madison and Zilker.
