Workshop Overview

Using the expressive nature of paperclay, participants are invited to build quick, confident maquettes drawn from the rich natural environment of Sitka. A spirit of freedom is embodied in paperclay, where ideas can quickly take form as we explore the relationship of maquette to design. The addition of paper fibres to clay creates a dynamic, versatile material that is both strong and pliant—expanding the possibilities of traditional clay-forming techniques to rapidly create inspired forms. We’ll discover a new springboard for fresh ideas in 3D models, laying the foundation for lasting clay creations - functional or sculptural.
