Workshop Overview

Reverse glass painting is a method of painting where the paint is applied in layers to the backside of the glass and viewed from the front. This creates clean, vibrant and gemlike works. The colors become more intense and seemingly magnified. Nicole will assist participants with the creative jumping-off into the design of the initial sketch on paper to the transfer onto glass. The painting process begins with lines and details moving in layers to larger areas of color and finishing with a final layered background. Simple or more complex styles all work beautifully with this method. The discussion and opportunity to experiment with adding other media and items into the painting process will be explored. All participants will leave the workshop with at least one finished painting.
