Workshop Overview

The medium for this workshop is epoxy resin. Participants will learn how to mix resin properly, what types of resin to use and why, along with proper PPE and safety while working with the medium. Participants will also learn how to prepare for doing a resin project at home and how to recover from resin-related mistakes. We will use pigments and mica powder with resin and learn blending techniques including but not limited to tilting, pouring, heat gun, torching and getting in there with a gloved hand to manipulate the medium.

About the Instructor(s)

Alison is a resin aficionado whose approach to teaching is to encourage students to learn to work with the resin and play with color and techniques in an environment where mistakes are encouraged and breakthroughs emerge prior to completion of the final piece. She evokes the little thrills of, "what if?" and addresses the students’ emotional relationship with the art when going from loving it, to not being so sure.
