Experience the magic of making Platinum prints from your digital images. Platinum printing is a supreme form of photographic printing and dates to the early days of photography. They can last for more than a thousand years but, more importantly, they are extremely beautiful and have a unique feel that beckons viewers to step up and look closely. In this workshop you will learn how to make a digital negative from your image file using Photoshop and a digital printer and then make beautiful platinum prints.
Kelly James is a photographic artist based in Salem, Oregon who has owned and operated a commercial photography studio for more than 25 years. He has a BS degree from Oregon State University. With extensive experience in both analog and digital photography he loves working with others who are passionate about making photographs. His fine art interests include documentary, figure and landscape photography. Kelly is also an adjunct photography instructor at Chemeketa Community College.
• Students should bring a computer with Adobe Photoshop editing software
• Digital image files - participants should bring at least two image files to print
