In this workshop we will choose from a variety of beautiful, locally sourced salvage wood and go through the process of using a mold to encapsulate the resin. We will be working in layers, exploring ways to add interest, or in some cases restraint. When the resin is set, we will sand and finish them with a food-safe OSMO Top Oil. The process of making a leak proof mold can be used for many projects including, but not limited to river tables.
Alison is a resin aficionado whose approach to teaching is to encourage students to learn to work with the resin and play with color and techniques in an environment where mistakes are encouraged and breakthroughs emerge prior to completion of the final piece. She evokes the little thrills of, "what if?" and addresses the students’ emotional relationship with the art when going from loving it, to not being so sure.
