Workshop Overview

Over this three-day mosaic workshop, we'll go through the process of choosing a design, cutting material into pieces (tesserae), prepping a 12" x 12" substrate, transferring design to substrate, tinting cement mortar, transitioning from one material to another, and creating an expressive line design of andamento (flow). Along the way you'll hone your cutting, setting and design skills, learn how to tint mortar, and discover the six fundamental rules of eloquent andamento (so that you can break them successfully when you wish!)

About the Instructor(s)

An award-winning professional mosaic artist since 2005, with an aesthetic steeped in materials analysis and innovation, Kelley began teaching her unique blend of contemporary and classically-influenced mosaic techniques in 2009. She's known round the world for her enthusiastic, inventive, yet technically-grounded approach to teaching, both in person and online, that regularly moves students beyond their own creative expectations.
