We are all familiar with sketching with traditional drawing materials such as paper, pencils, pens and markers. In this workshop, you will discover an entirely new digital drawing format using an Apple pencil, iPad and the app Procreate. This high energy and creative 3-day workshop is divided into multiple hands-on segments, each exploring different informal iPad drawing and coloring techniques such as onsite field sketching, tracing over photographs, options for combining linework and color, digital painting tips, working with layers and essential post production editing with Adobe Photoshop. Student drawings will be printed and displayed on the final day.
Architect, author and illustrator, Jim Leggitt, FAIA has been teaching others to draw for over forty years. He authored the book Drawing Shortcuts, about merging traditional drawing techniques with new technologies. Jim has now fully embraced digital visualization using an iPad and teaches his new hybrid drawing methods in workshops.
