The figure’s placement within a background is a complimentary relationship. Compositions are activated by the countenance of the figure and how it relates to the environment it is placed within. Here, the visual statement becomes pronounced. Our study will include drawing the figure, the landscape, and composition, with the intention to unite all elements into engaging images. We will be drawing and painting with mixed media on paper.
