Melissa Romeo is an artist an educator currently working in Portland Oregon. She has over 10 years of woodburning experience and teaches workshops throughout Oregon. As a current art therapy and counseling graduate student, Melissa’s interests lie at the intersection of mindfulness practices, somatic experiencing and art making. Her classes offer a unique opportunity to slow down and engage multiple senses in the creative process. Applying heat and pressure, one of Melissa’s favorite things is to bring new life to old, abandoned or otherwise forgotten pieces of wood.

• A mask to filter smoke if you have any sensitivities: 3M. KN95, N95, (or) a PM 2. carbon mask filter
Optional:
• Colored pencils, watercolors, acrylics or any other color-adding materials
o Please also bring paint brushes and palettes if you plan on painting.
• Bring your own burner if you have one that you'd like to work with
• Pencils
• Carbon transfer paper
