This is a special new one day workshop for anyone interested in exploring the technique of monotype! Monotype is a printing process that typically produces only a single print. Other printing methods deliberately aim to reproduce the original, but with a monotype each print is unique and one of kind. In this workshop we will create a monotype print with simple primary colors (blue, red and yellow), but in layering them the process will allow for complex color imagery with additional secondary colors (green, orange and purple) appearing. Representational and/or abstract image will be explored.
- Apron
- Portfolio case or tube for finished print/s
- Newsprint
- Akua Water-soluble Intaglio Inks (Crimson Red, Hanza Yellow and Pthalo Blue)
- Rag pepers (BFK, Arches, etc.), 22" x30"
- Rags
- Cotton swab
- Inking Rollers
- Cleaning chemical (Simple green)
