Workshop Overview

Utilizing a variety of drawing materials and techniques we will make quick notes and sketches from natural forms in the immediate landscape and from a nude model. Use these initial drawings for further development in the studio. Drawings and/or sections of drawings will be altered and reconstructed to investigate deeper interpretations and more personal responses to the natural environment. Individual and group discussions will be supplemented with digital projections investigating the definition of drawing with examples of historical and contemporary work. This is a truly exploratory and experimental workshop.

This workshop is for intermediate students who have some experience with a variety of drawing materials, who are comfortable with experimental approaches to drawing and who are interested in exploring new ways of seeing.
