Workshop Overview

Often the area below our feet has just as much life, if not more, than the area above. Using observation skills and a mix of gesso and charcoal, you’ll learn to draw large, texture-rich images that capture Sitka’s tiny ecosystems. Each student will leave with at least two drawings. Dress for weather, there will be some light hiking.

About the Instructor(s)

Raised in Salem, Oregon, Kendra Larson has a BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art and an MFA from University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is active with Orlo and Signal Fire, and is an exhibiting artist. She has a love of Oregon and ten years of experience teaching post secondary classes as well as 20 noncredit classes/ workshops.
