Workshop Overview

Participants will draw from the natural beauty of the surrounding forests and beaches to create miniature landscapes using mosses, lichens, driftwood and other found materials. Kokedama is a form of bonsai which uses moss, soil and twine to contain plants in a living sphere that can be hung or displayed on a table. Moss walls allow participants to recreate the complex ecosystems of the forest floor, and floral arrangements in driftwood evoke the windswept coastline. Participants will collect materials while learning about the flora around them, and create pieces from found materials which they can take home to enjoy.

About the Instructor(s)

Linda supports learning and creativity by encouraging workshop attendees to be curious and explore nature and their environment. She has been a florist and event designer for 30 years and combines her floral design experience and degree in ornamental horticulture to create living sculptural floral design from the incredible moss, lichen and flora of the coastal forests and shores.
