Workshop Overview

Paint with passion and bring a boost of energy to your painting during this three-day workshop with Honolulu, Hawaii artist Yvonne Manipon. This fun and focused workshop hits the basics of value and composition design, while exploring rich color and lively brushwork. Learn the alla prima oil painting technique and pack your paintings with confident, harmonious color while simplifying your palette. Get a new perspective on landscape painting and tips on how to create a cohesive and unified composition. Yvonne will demonstrate her process and work with each participant individually. Painters should have experience and equipment to paint in plein air.

About the Instructor(s)

Investigating the unique qualities of light and atmosphere from the Pacific NW to the islands of Hawaii, professional artist Yvonne Manipon's artwork reflect her joyful explorations of her local environments en plein air. She has taught workshops in Hawaii, Oregon and California.

After attending University of Oregon and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Yvonne has worked at various arts organizations and schools as a teaching artist. Her work has been widely exhibited throughout Oregon and Hawaii.

For Yvonne, the true joy of being an artist also lies in the sharing of her passion with others, helping them to discover their own artistic voice.
