Workshop Overview

Sitka Art Circles are a way to come together in a casual atmosphere to enliven your creative spirit through facilitated projects.

In this session you’ll get to know the creative side of yourself (like a friend!) from different perspectives. We’ll invite your muse to playfully express itself with colored markers to nurture, expand, and deepen your relationship with each other. Your mind and heart will dance with a sense of wonder as we ponder thought provoking questions in group discussions and private journaling. Your insights will lead to solid commitments for action. You'll leave knowing how to connect with your creative self in the future.

The hours of this workshop are 10am to 2pm.

About the Instructor(s)

Jalene is an enthusiastic life-long learner. Her most recent lessons have come from long-term travel and the subsequent experience of reinventing her life. In 2015 she resigned as the Sitka Center¹s Executive Director to embark on a nearly 2-year epic adventure with her husband on two motorcycles, from Oregon to the southern tip of South America. The next big dream she's ushering into reality is her own business helping individuals and small teams who have a meaningful desire that they want to make real, and yet they're struggling to find clarity, make choices, and get it done.

Materials List: Students Bring

ESSENTIAL:

• Journal with no lines in whatever size feels good to you. (I like a 6”x9” simple, inexpensive, sketch book.) • Colored markers or colored pencils -- at least three different colors and up to as many as you want to play with. (I like a fine to medium tipped marker that feels good between my fingers.)
