Workshop Overview

Transform sheet metal and wire into an extraordinary piece of jewelry in this metalsmithing sampler course. Create design sketches based on personal inspiration, then bring them into focus through sawing, piercing, forging and shaping metal components. Create surface patterns using etching techniques, basic fold forming and three-dimensional shaping. Learn to combine the elements with hot (torch soldering) and cold (riveting) connections into a finished piece that reflects your own inspiration. Learn to set a variety of cabochon and faceted stones. We will work with silver, copper and brass.
