Workshop Overview

Place-based writers are steeped in their landscapes, paying close attention to the natural world of the place they write: Andrea Barrett's oceans, Jesmyn Ward's Mississippi, Willa Cather's Nebraska. We will consider the natural world as integral to story, focusing on narratives that would be nothing without place. We will find inspiration in the nature of the place we are in as well as the places we have been. Be ready to write outside and find new stories.
