Workshop Overview
Place holds both memory and meaning—whether it’s a room, a tree, a porch or a coastline. In this workshop, we will use place as an entry point for writing the stories of our lives. Simple exercises will invite us to attend to our present landscapes, as well as those we evoke from memory, in fresh and vivid ways. The result will be the discovery of our deepest stories. Our time "on screen" will be broken up to allow for resting, walking, and being with ourselves, in place, supported by community.
About the Instructor(s)
Nancy Linnon has been teaching writing for 25 years. Her work has appeared in literary journals and magazines such as Creative Nonfiction, Los Angeles Review, Mothering, Yoga International and the anthologies What Wildness is This, VoiceCatcher and Rage and Reconciliation. Her passion is exploring ways of accessing the creative self through the powerful act of writing.
