Blue Sky Photography Residency

About the Blue Sky Photography Residency:

The Blue Sky/Sitka Center Photography Residency was created to increase Sitka’s visibility in the photography community through a collaboration with Blue Sky Gallery, one of the most well-known photography galleries in the Pacific Northwest. Each year, Sitka offers 2 alumni of Blue Sky’s exhibitions and Drawers program the opportunity to be in residence at Sitka Center for up to a month. Residents are selected through a jury of Sitka Center and Blue Sky staff, along with a Blue Sky Residency alum. Application due dates for 2022 to be announced at a later time.

Additional opportunities:

In addition to the residency, the selected photographers will have the opportunity to present an artist talk at Blue Sky Gallery about their time at Sitka Center, and can showcase work created at the Residency on the Library Exhibition wall at Blue Sky in the Spring/Summer following the residency. The resident can also present work at the Sitka Art Invitational in the year following the residency.
