Mo was born and grew up in Yunnan Kunming, where ethnic minorities and indigenous cultures have influenced her engagement with modern culture. She has a background in jewelry design and industrial design before attending Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her topic focuses on women's dilemmas; by using the tension of beads and thread, she calls back to the memory of typical historical women's labor, but now women's traditional skills are her new weapon to fight against patriarchy.
