Workshop Overview

Participants will learn or refresh skills for creating frames and bezels, soldering these items together, and setting the cabochons to create a finished product! Bezel is a type of jewelry setting that surrounds a center stone using a continuous band of metal. In this workshop participants will add a bit of sparkle to the process by using dichroic glass in place of traditional stone cabochons. If you prefer the natural look of stones - the techniques are the same and transferable. Your instructor will discuss applying this technique to other objects, such as stones, and to other types of jewelry like pendants.

This workshop is open to all levels, but it will be helpful if participants are comfortable working with a jeweler's saw and butane torches.

About the Instructor(s)

Jewelry artist Dona Miller is an award-winning artist and instructor of traditional silver-smithing and modern metal clay. She is known for her stone-setting techniques in both mediums.
