Workshop Overview

Create plates, platters and bowls that pay tribute to the summer season. Sitka's lush grounds become

inspiration to learn a fun layering process in which hand built clay slabs are textured then pressed over

forms both provided and created on the spot. Participants can incorporate simple techniques to make

fully functional dinnerware ready to hang on the wall when not in use, giving utilitarian dishes a

second life on display. This two-day class will allow time for building, then artwork will travel home to

be kiln fired.
