Workshop Overview

Experience the magic of creating platinum prints from your digital images. Platinum printing, a supreme form of photographic printing with roots tracing back to the early days of photography, offers prints that can last for more than a thousand years. More importantly, these prints are exceptionally beautiful and possess a unique feel that beckons viewers to step closer and look closely. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a digital negative from your image file using Photoshop and a digital printer. Immerse yourself in the process and discover how to produce stunning platinum prints, capturing the timeless allure of this photographic printing form.

About the Instructor(s)

Kelly James is a photographic artist based in Salem, Oregon who has owned and operated a commercial photography studio for more than 25 years. He has a BS degree from Oregon State University. With extensive experience in both analog and digital photography he loves working with others who are passionate about making photographs. His fine art interests include documentary, figure and landscape photography. Kelly is also an adjunct photography instructor at Chemeketa Community College.
