January Youth Art Literacy Update

                                                                                         "Pintos" by Bev Doolittle

Celebrating Bev Doolittle and Nature's Camouflage

Almost 500 elementary-aged youth arts program participants started off the New Year learning  about American contemporary artist Bev Doolittle. Doolittle spearheaded artistic change by honing her talents and creating her own unique style of camouflage art. Doolittle's signature piece, "Pintos" (right) exemplifies her passion and commitment to environmental causes through the incorporation of nature, wild animals and horses into her watercolor paintings.

After learning about Doolittle's work, students created their own works of art using camouflage techniques to create paper collages inspired by Doolittle's nature themes.
