It is with sadness that the Sitka team has decided to postpone the 2020 Sitka Art Invitational show due to COVID-19 and the unknown feasibility of public gatherings this fall. This year's show, originally scheduled for November 2020, will now take place in November 2021. While we will miss the annual joy of this event, our top priority is the health and safety of Sitka's volunteers, artists, staff and patrons.
Please save the dates for the 2021 Sitka Art Invitational:
Friday, November 5th, 2021, 6pm - 9pm
Public Art Exhibition and Sale:
Saturday & Sunday, November 6th-7th, 2021, 10am-4pm
The Sitka Art Invitational supports working artists. Last year's Invitational raised over $80K in art sales, directly supporting artists and Sitka's costs to host the show. All invited artists for 2020 will instead be invited to participate in 2021. Over the next year we will introduce you them through our newsletter and website and help make it easy for the Sitka community to support our wonderful regional artists directly in this challenging year.
Thank You, Sponsors!
A lot of hard work has already gone into planning the 27th annual Art Invitational as we look ahead to 2021. We would like to give special thanks to our sponsors and in-kind donors for helping to fund this work including Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, Judy Vogland & Bob Dayton, Tom & Ellen Abrego, Framing Resource, McClain's Framing Resource Supplies, Mill's Ace Hardware, McMenamins, Bryan Potter Design, United Pacific Forest Products, and Lakewood Center for the Arts. We are also grateful to The Harold & Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation and Jordan Schnitzer for their Signature Sponsorship of our 50th Anniversary Year.
